Words, words, words, that’s all they are. Words are a bunch of letters put together to help communicate an idea or thought. But sometimes words are just “$&=+(@“ nonsense that convey nothing. Just think about all the words you see and hear just in one day. Do all of them have impact? No, they don’t. Actually a very small percentage of the words you see actually have an impact in your day and even smaller impact on your life. Do you go out and buy a new car after you see a car commercial? Probably not I would think. Do you go out and buy every food item you see an advertisement for? Do you always follow the speed limit when you drive? Do you listen and do everything your boss tells you to do? Do you always wash your clothes in the correct washer setting? Do you see what I mean about the small percentage of all the communication that you see or hear but you don’t pay any attention too on a daily basis. That’s because you tune it out and not let it impact your life. So why be hyper sensitive about everything you hear or see? Don’t waste your time and energy on words that won’t make an impact on your life. That’s why I said earlier that sometimes words are just nonsense. There is a saying of “a person can not insult you unless you LET them”. I capitalized the word LET since it means you have to give permission for someone or something to insult you. So when you feel hurt by something that someone says and that person has no real impact on your life why would you give them permission to insult you. This is why being hyper-sensitive is useless and sometimes words are just $&# nonsense.
